We are located away from busy highways yet close enough to the Queen Elizabeth 2 highway, linking Calgary and Edmonton, to be easy to find. Just head west on either highway 12 from Lacombe or highway 53 from Ponoka and the signs will take you to our gate.
Nestled among farms, hills, and forests, we are on the east shore of Gull Lake, Central Alberta’s largest lake. There is plenty of room to sail, water-ski, canoe, kayak, windsurf, swim or just float around. We have docks and rafts to fish, swim and boat from. There are several kilometers of excellent natural hiking/mountain biking trails on our property, trails that extend north and south for miles along the lake for the more adventurous. Our quiet country roads are also great for biking and long, peaceful walks with or without your dogs.
We have over 1 km of shoreline, most of which is rocky. There are sandy areas, but it is best to bring your water-walkers (even old running shoes will do) and get set to enjoy a natural shoreline. Our sand gets washed away by the awesome storms we experience on our unprotected shores, but this washing action also ensures our water is the cleanest to be found anywhere in Gull Lake. Our water is clear except for just after storms, or when water plants spread their pollen after prolonged hot spells. Our shores are lined with fields and meadows, wildlife, waterfowl and other feathered friends abound. Deer, moose, coyotes, hares, squirrels, Canada geese and ducks join our campers in calling DeGraff’s “home”
DeGraff’s Eco-Camp Resort offers a wide variety of natural sites available for seasonal and short term guests. Some sites have fine lawns and mature shade trees, others, closer to the water’s edge, are sandy, surrounded by willows and poplars. We also offer over 80 treed, grassed, spacious, fully serviced camp sites. Most of our serviced sites are rented by “permanent” campers, who occupy their sites for the season, often for years. Some of our long term campers have been with us for over 30 years.
